ABSTRACT

T HREE wicked djinns popped up in my busi-ness path and should have closed the road to me altogether: I am a woman, I am a Jew, and I am a radical. If you were a novelist writing the story of such a person you could build up a drama of tremendous obstacles overcome. But if you merely lived with them, you would not build a tragedy or even any drama of conflicting forcesyou would do as I did, live from day to day and almost forget that there were any such drawbacks. Almost-not quite.
