ABSTRACT
ONCE I invested some of my own money in a customer's enterprise. Only once. And I lost not only the money, but the account, and about twenty-five thousand dollars' ·worth of time besides. My investment gave me a block of common stock; so I put more enthusiasm into this job than into others. Let those who think business is ruled by brains disentangle this particular tale of muddle and cross purposes, if they will.
