ABSTRACT
So far in this book we have looked at how to create the right conditions for developing lang - uage and communication, by providing a place to talk and a reason to talk, and by teaching language skills to all children. This is not sufficient, however; we also need to support children in a variety of ways, identifying those who are struggling and planning strategies and inter - ventions to help them.
