ABSTRACT

This chapter outlines the key security challenges and common global concerns. It highlights the foreign policy engagements of both Russia and India that have transformed their character, with the move beyond being a bilateral partnership to becoming global strategic partners. The chapter investigates the success of both India and Russia in regional and global institutions, addresses obstacles in the interplay of, and finds an effective path to sustain the bilateral partnership while dealing with the current geo-political system. As for the role of India and Russia, both have gained strong and crucial international positions in the post Cold War era due to their participation in world affairs. Both India and Russia, along with China, have pushed for the establishment of a multipolar world order to expand their relations on all global issues and concerns. Despite a fast growth rate in intra-Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa trade, the member states have different economic growth strategies that determine their economic policies.
