ABSTRACT

Now that we have a basic language for describing our designs, how do we take the information from our Abstraction Hierarchy and turn it into effective display graphics? The Abstraction Hierarchy has given us a fivelevel description of the work domain. From the analysis we have learned the bounds of the work domain (what to include and not include), viewed the work domain from five different perspectives, and connected those five levels with means-end links. From the analysis we can extract information requirements, key constraining relationships, multivariate relationships, and means-end relationships. These are the basic information elements for the design of our graphical displays
