ABSTRACT
The papers in this volume were read and discussed at a Workshop held by the Department of Human Geography, Research School of Pacific Studies, Australian National University, Canberra. The Work shop was inter-disciplinary, the main objective was to share research findings and views on the develop ment and social impact of new marine technology on Pacific island communities.
