ABSTRACT
The BBC is a non-profit-making organization, and, under the terms of its Charter has to apply the whole of its income solely to promoting its objects which are to provide a public service of broadcasting for general reception at home and overseas. Its domestic broadcasting is financed by the revenue from broadcast receiving licences, and its external services are financed by a Grant-in-Aid from the Treasury.
