ABSTRACT

Kálí, Durgá, and Mahádeva are worshipped, but the majority follow the teaching of one Buddh Rám, a Mochí of Tírhut who founded a sect, differing in some slight respects from that of Nának Sháh. They observe few caste usages, but many superstitious rites, such as burning ‘ghí’ in a lamp and adding resin, in execution of vows.
