ABSTRACT
Fruit grown in Eastern Bengal is very inferior to that of Hindustan. The plantains, especially the richly flavoured ‘Am_rita ságar’, are, however, unsurpassed by those of any other country. Mangoes still suffer from the curse of a holy man, and no one is able to prevent their being tunnelled through and through by a small weevil.
