ABSTRACT

Chapter 1 proposes the usefulness of the book for all those who work with voice: teachers, actors, pianists, singers as well as composers. It discusses the limitations of words in dealing with music and its conjunction with words in song, and discussion of the voice brings other related challenges. The objective is to explore relationships and discover synthesis between these elements wherever it occurs. Voice, music and language are contextualized from this perspective, and their culmination in lyric synthesis is outlined. It proposes and defines embodied composition as a major and new theme.
