ABSTRACT

The field of media and telecommunications is a fast-paced and highpressure environment. It is a world that is highly competitive where success is measured in rating points, market share, and sales volume. The clear lines and historic boundaries that once separated broadcasting, cable, telephony, and Internet communication are becoming less distinct. A natural convergence of industries and information technologies is blurring those distinctions. As we begin the 21st century, tomorrow’s manager will be faced with a different set of industry players and issues than was the case in past years.
