ABSTRACT

Parents have a profound influence on their children. They want the best for their children. They would like their children to be the best. When my students have asked parents what kinds of goals they have for their child, invariably some of the goals were related to the child’s intellectual development. Parents want their children to be bright, curious, good problem solvers, and good students. Parents want their children to develop their intellectual potential, but what is it that parents do to facilitate their children’s intellectual development?
