ABSTRACT
In the previous 13 chapters, the realistic approach to teacher education has been described. Practical examples have been given, and theoretical foundations elaborated. The idea of this chapter is to look backward and forward. I will summarize the essential features of realistic teacher education and look ahead to ways in which it may possibly influence teacher education in the future.
