ABSTRACT
She describes her early management difficulties as she tried to create contexts where students’ voices were encouraged and heard, as well as covers the many successes that she and her students achieved in her inquiry. She also talks about the ongoing monitoring strategies she developed to track students’ contributions. Then, at the end, she discusses how her new way of reading aloud led to student-run read-alouds that encouraged parent involvement in their children’s reading.
