ABSTRACT

Once a researcher has obtained information through the use of research instruments (tests, rating scales, interview schedules, and so forth), he or she must make sense of it. How is the information to be used to answer the research question or test the research hypothesis? Statistical procedures help researchers answer such questions. These techniques enable researchers to organize and simplify the information they have collected. In this chapter, previously mentioned studies are used to provide examples of the most commonly used statistical techniques.
