ABSTRACT
Once researchers begin to think about the kinds of instrumentation they will need in order to obtain information about their intended sample, the next step is to think through how they can actually get this information. At the same time, they often must consider how to use the information to test their hypothesis. This is often referred to as the “design” of a study (we will show you some examples of research designs in chaps. 13 and 14).
