Metaphors are the building blocks of our psychological reality. From the tenuous foothold of our limited knowledge, we shape the confusing and encircling morass of everyday actuality into neat metaphoric bricks of understanding and build them up into the edifices of a worldview. We use metaphors to bridge the chasm between the frontiers of know ledge and the unknowns of new phenomena.
