A spectre is haunting North America. It is the spectre of ubiquitous information-anything, anytime, anywhere. The foundations of existing institutions-government, corporate, academic-crumble as legions of networkers use the power of information to warp time and space, interpersonal context, and social verities. New institutions and new leadership in the society will emerge only among those who understand where this information revolution is carrying us.
