ABSTRACT
In a large working-class neighborhood in a northern German city called Hannover, the Jorgensen/Lippelt family was born, lived, and died. The legacy of their struggle was paramount, fused by the members of this strong but devastated community like so many others, in a country left in shambles and war-tom poverty.
