ABSTRACT
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution has a two-pronged section related to religion. The first part, called the Establishment Clause, states that “Congress shall make no laws respecting an establishment of religion.” The second, the Free Exercise Clause, forbids creating laws that “prohibit the free exercise of religion.”
