ABSTRACT

Up to this point, information about the extent of cheating, perceptions of cheating, and cheating methods presented in preceding chapters have focused on the problem as it exists within the borders of the United States. Far from being a pa-rochial problem, however, cheating occurs around the world. The phenomenon has been studied by researchers

interested in comparisons between cheating in the United States and other countries. Apparently, students who smuggle cheat sheets into examinations or wait longingly for another student to leave an answer uncovered are as common abroad as in the United States.
