Many people think that spelling is no longer important; the spell checker will catch any mistakes. Never has anything been as badly named as the spell checker, though. Spell checkers are nothing but small databases that match your words with words in the database: If there's a match, it's as sumed you've spelled the word correctly. If there's no match, then you may have misspelled a word.
