This chapter focuses on one of psychology’s legends. Carl Murchison occupies a unique place in the history of the discipline, but he is no ordinary legend. He was not a theorist, a researcher, or an interpreter of psychology; he was an organizer—an organizer of the first rank—in the developing field.
