ABSTRACT

This chapter continues the discussion of binary mixed joint receipts and gambles begun in the last one. The difference is that we now assume it is the value function V, not the utility function U, that is additive over mixed joint receipts—indeed, over the entire structure of gambles and their joint receipt Of course, we continue to assume that the structure is sufficiently rich so that V and U are onto intervals that include 0. Much of the chapter is an expansion of Luce (1997) plus some subsequent experimental studies.
