ABSTRACT

I have pursued three fundamental theories in this book that break with the dominant assumptions of cognitive science over most of its history:

■ Concepts are not simply words or word networks in the brain, but higher-order categories (categorizations of categorizations) in different modalities (visual, verbal, auditory, postural, etc.), related synchronously and sequentially in time.
