The Southwest Airlines behavior-based, conversational style of interview-ing puts people at ease, claimed human resources director Libby Sartain, whose official title, vice president of people, is intended to do the same. She said, "People feel like they are talking to a friend, and sometimes they tell us the most unbelievable things." Sartain recalled one candidate who, when asked how he dealt with prior difficulties with his co-workers, admitted to having stabbed one with a screwdriver.
