ABSTRACT

The curriculum described in this chapter was developed for a onequarter, three-credit-hour course serving both prospective and practicing teachers at the elementary and secondary levels. To address the questions just listed, I rely primarily on case pedagogies, which are described in detail in chapter 1 of this volume. This curriculum was field tested and refined over a 4-year period in seven iterations of the course. Although it was developed for a 10-week course, the curriculum described in this chapter has been expanded for use in a semester-long course.
