ABSTRACT
The Compounding phenomenon Psycholinguistic research has shown that compound
words with irregular plural nouns in non-head position (e.g. mice-eater) are produced far
more frequently than compound words with regular plural nouns in non-head position
(e.g. *rats-eater) (Gordon, 1985).
