ABSTRACT
Discussions of classroom learning environments typically focus on obvious factors such as class size and available resources. Less-often discussed issues that impact on learning and student morale include the role of instructors’ methods and practices regarding the maintenance of discipline and order, excuse policies for missed classes, and making changes in the course after the term is under way. The ethical aspects of such methods and practices are the topics of this chapter.
