ABSTRACT

People are different. Many of the differences, such as height and weight, can be directly observed. Other individual differences such as intelligence, sociability, emotional stability, and job knowledge are less obvious, but can still be measured. In individual assessment the concern is with those differences in people that have consequences for job performance or are job related (Hellervik, Hicks, & Sommers, 1991; Schippmann & Vrazo, 1995).
