Digit Span. The chi ld was to reproduce series with varying numbers o f digits in the correct order. The score is the maximum number o f digits reproduced (mean o f T l , T 2 , a n d T3).
Repetition of Words and Nonwords. The chi ld was to repeat 16 short words o f high frequency and imagery and 16 short nonwords (mono-or bisyl labic; K r e m i n & Dellatolas, 1995). The examiner coded the answer as correct or incorrect. The score is the number o f items correctly repeated. A total score was computed by summing the scores o f the two assessments (at T1 and T 2 ; range = 0-64).
