ABSTRACT

Nelson has focused the field on process and pathways. Her core questions focus on how children make sense of the world around them and how sense making is embedded in ongoing everyday interactions with the objects and people in their world. In this special issue, three of Katherine's doctoral students (Fivush, Hudson, and Lucariello) and two additional scholars (Bauer and Tomasello) who have been highly influenced by her work contribute articles that highlight the ways in which Katherine's theoretical vision is currently being realized in ongoing research programs in developmental psychology.
