ABSTRACT

Basically, what we have done in the preceding chapters is to analyze simple (that is, two-factor or factor-response) two-way contingency tables where emphasis is on whether the classificatory variables are homogeneous or independent. In a way, the preceeding methods discussed in chapter 5 cannot be readily extended to situations where there are more than two underlying variables. Consequently, in this chapter, we develop a new methodology that will enable us to study various interactions for multiway contingency tables.
