ABSTRACT
Some important notions (Santner & Duffy, 1989) for model selection would be appropriate at this point before we discuss the various procedures for model selection strategies.
1. Parsimony: The model should have as few parameters as possible while adequately explaining the data. That is, we balance between a model that has as enough parameters to explain the data, while at the same time, it is easy enough to interpret.
