ABSTRACT
The United Kingdom has a long tradition of democratic parliamentary elections and, although it does not have a written constitution, within the legal framework there are numerous rules and regulations relating to how elections should be conducted, as well as to how the media should act during the period when candidates stand for election to parliament.
