ABSTRACT

By now, at this concluding chapter, we hope you have understood the important link between emotions and organizational behavior. Worklife is intertwined with emotion. We begin with the joy of successfully gaining employment and it ends with sometimes happiness, but more often sadness, at the loss of employment. But what about during employment? Where do emotions fit into the busy world of organizational behavior? We compiled this book from carefully selected papers, from scholars around the world, that identified the role that emotions play within organizations. The papers were presented at the Third Biannual Conference on Emotions, held on the Gold Coast in Australia. The strength of this compilation is that it views the emotion-organizational behavior link from a number of cultural viewpoints, and integrates different aspects of organizational life, such as the individual, interpersonal, and organizational processes that enhance the understanding and development of managing emotions in the workplace.
