ABSTRACT

Working with money can be challenging for those of us who were not especially attracted to the subject of finance in our own scholarly training or, for that matter, in our personal lives. Even financially-minded faculty who take on the management of a program or department can feel bewildered by university budgeting, especially on large and complex campuses. Yet, as vexing or unappealing as the subject of money may be to many of us, no writing program can run without a budget, and no administrator can ignore the effects of finances on the principles and delivery of writing instruction.
