What we see in the rulings explored and analyzed here, and how the First Amendment is interpreted, serve as a framework. They are precedents to future decisions. As Reno co-counsel John Morris said with regard to that case, “I think this decision will continue to be the starting point for 50 years-for a very long time it will be where courts start when they evaluate regulation of the Internet. ” Many of these cases have had, and will continue to have, similar legacies.
