ABSTRACT
In an era of such books as Men Are From Mars: Women Are From Venus (Gray, 1992)
and You Just Don’t Understand: Women and Men in Conversation (Tannen, 1990), it is no
surprise that there is a wealth of theory and supporting research on the differences in how
males and females process information. This chapter examines those differences and then
goes on to explore how those differences will play out in the Web environment. The
purpose of this chapter is to:
1. Describe gendered differences in information processing.
