From its inception in 1999, as an initiative of the American Educational Research Association, CORIBE approached its mission to stimulate research and policy making to improve education for and about people of African ancestrywith the understanding that issues of Black education arenot aminority concernbut, rather, a reflectionof thegeneral state of global injustice.
