ABSTRACT

Children today have a dizzying array of media options. From the Internet, DVD and video releases, digital cable and satellite systems, to traditional broadcasting, children are awash in a sea of choice. As the digital age continues to mature, even more innovations are being planned and developed, aimed at increasing both ubiquity of media access and options in media selections. But, in this environment, what choices will our children and their parents make when selecting from the promised superabundance of media content? What options will truly be available for them? These questions must be addressed to ensure that quality children’s programming thrives in the new media landscape.
