ABSTRACT

The American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th edition, Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR; APA, 2000) includes 10 personality disorders: antisocial, avoidant, borderline, dependent, histrionic, narcissistic, obsessive-compulsive, paranoid, schizoid, and schizotypal. Two additional disorders are placed in an appendix to the DSM-IV for diagnoses provided for further study: passive-aggressive and depressive.
