ABSTRACT

As Larissa recites the features of the modern skull to Andy, he interrupts her to make sure she sees the other skull: “Look, this one is older, the teeth are all grey.” Larissa retorts: “Just because it has grey teeth doesn’t mean it’s old.” He considers her remark and says: “Yeah, but the forehead isn’t smooth.” She replies: “Hmmm . . . and the chin isn’t really there and the teeth are different.” “Yeah,” says Andy, “I bet this one is a million years old.” They both laugh.
