ABSTRACT

Systemic vasculitis in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can be considered, in very simplistic terms, as a "spillover" into extraarticular tissues of very severe synovitis. Fortunately, this complication of rheumatoid arthritis is rare. Some of its forms of presentation are very serious and life threatening; others are more benign. Management of the complication of vasculitis in the context of severe articular disease is often challenging and difficult.
