Cavum Septum Pellucidum Development The midline corpus callosum and the cavum septum pellucidum do not completely develop until approximately 18 weeks of gestation. Therefore, failure of recognition of the cavum septum pellucidum early in pregnancy does not indicate agenesis of the corpus callosum. Rescanning at 18 to 20 weeks should be performed.
