ABSTRACT

In Chapter 6 the penetration of electromagnetic energy through shields and apertures was studied. Irrespective of the exact manner of penetration, this energy most often couples into wires that are part of transmission lines, such as ribbon cables and printed circuit boards. Energy thus propagates, guided by the wires, to spread throughout the system and cause further interference. The purpose of this chapter is to address the problem of propagation and coupling to the field and between wires.
