ABSTRACT
Arsenic can be present at high concentrations in nonferrous ores including copper, zinc, and gold and is a common contaminant of coal. Biological activity can transform inorganic arsenic into organic forms. Seafood can contain high concentrations of organic arsenic but these species are considered to be nontoxic.
