ABSTRACT
VMware ESX Server is undoubtedly the most widely deployed and most stable server virtualization platform. Designed for production use, enterprise-class server virtualization, VMware ESX Server provides a feature rich virtualization platform while having the smallest possible overhead due to its hypervisor design. Th is chapter covers the platform’s background, deployment planning requirements, and overviews platform-specifi c features.
