Although the notion of normal micelle (hereafter mentioned as micelle) formation in the aqueous solutions of surfactants had been established beyond any doubt at the turn of the 20th century, the first systematic study on the effects of micelles on the rate and equilibrium constants of chemical reactions appeared only in 1959.
