ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND Risk stratification following myocardial infarction (MI) is the process of estimating the risk of future cardiovascular events in survivors of MI. This process helps health care providers tailor short-and long-term management plans for such patients, with the goal of applying costeffective treatments that are most appropriate for the risk level of the patient and that are most likely to optimize the patient’s quality and quantity of life.
